I was out painting on the coast all day, and as the started to set it started to light the foam off the waves with a magical glow.

Then someone climbed out on the rocks to get a better view, and it put the whole scene in a new perspective.  The scale of the breakers and the magic of the moment were both amplified.  This is a moment I won't soon forget.

I painted this along 17-mile drive in Pebble Beach at a famous overlook called "Ghost Tree".

Oil on a solid wood 1.5 inch thick block, this piece is mounted in a beautiful yet simnple white floater frame.  

On a blustery day along the coast, I tied my easel down so I could paint.  Big wave and warm evening light made for a magical afternoon.

This scene captured my attention with the distinctive ripples caused by the shallow sandbar just below the water's surface.
