This is from a backpacking trip in the high sierras.  I hiked in a couple of hours with my painting gear to this gorgeous lake, and spent the day trying to capture a bit of my feeling of awe being out there. Oil on linen mounted on board.

An unusual format with an exaggerated height. A continuation of a series of still life paintings I've been exploring. I added the blue marble to tie the composition and color scheme together.

Here I was exploring how much I could 'lose' the upside down glass that is supporting the lemon while still keeping the painting cohesive. Exploring lost edges and abstraction. This is oil on panel.

I love working en plein air, and this piece was created during the early hours of the morning at the seaside. The combination of the gentle, muted sky and the vibrant waters brought me a deep sense of peace.
