This painting was inspired by some studies I did on a recent trip.  Late in the day, the landscape started to glow with the evening light.  In particular, the distant mountains took on a unique pink tint that was quite remarkable.

This piece is on stretched linen.

Out painting with a friend, we found a spot that started to get some spectacular light towards the end of the day.  I did this larger oil version from my studies from the day, and it brings back fond memories every time I see the piece.

This is a classic California view, with the eucalyptus trees and the golden rolling hills.
